One More

A cold front moved in overnight bringing cooler temperatures and clear skies to the Northeast. The front was expected to bring some light snow to the Great Lakes region.

Meanwhile, moderate rain was forecast for parts of the Mississippi Valley, eventually transitioning to snow in parts of the region Wednesday.

The system could spawn strong thunderstorms in the South.

In the West, generally clear skies were expected but widespread morning fog could linger in inland valleys.

Residents of some parts of Southern California may wake up to light cloud cover.

Temperatures in the Lower 48 states Monday ranged from a low of minus 18 degrees at West Yellowstone, Montana, to a high of 76 degrees at Laredo, Texas.
